Egg head!

I am now officially an egg head, got fed up eating hair off my pillow so had Adrian shave my head!

Little bit pasty white and its very cold but feel better without it shedding everywhere.

Forgot to tell you about the good (ish) news from Friday....I finally got my receptor info.  The cancer is strongly Er (oestrogen) positive which means I will be eligible for hormone therapy after surgery to reduce risk of recurrence and secondaries.  I was so convinced I would be triple negative which there is no current treatment for, so this is a relief.  The downside is I'll be taking a medication for at least 5 years that will give me menopausal symptoms!  So watch out world for my mood swings!

This also gives me more dilemma regarding surgery, I was pretty much decided if I was triple neg I would push for bilateral mastectomy but now there is more scope to keep my good breast intact which is better I guess.  I'll have a meeting with surgeon in December sometime but want to be sure of what way I want to go before then.

Irene, I have done my ankle turns today and walked up and down the stairs several times and had a bath so I think that ticks my exercise for the day :-)

  4. Head looks stunning - well done with exercise. What's the goal for the rest of the week? Oestrogeon positive - brill news. Menopausal symptoms - ask me, I can tell you all about that! So can James! Have you heard of the seven dwarfs of menopause: Itchy, Bitchy, Sweaty, Sleepy, Bloated, Forgetful and Psycho.
Breast reconstruction - it's such a difficult choice - MacMillan have a good site which explains the different options. Everyone is different, so you have to do what feels right for you - just keep asking the surgeon what options, advantages, disadvantages.

Sailed really badly today but had a good laugh. Did you see my comment about Heather and me sailing to plymouth to join you for a weekend?

    2. Oh and exercise goal for today is getting to the kitchen to make lunch, possibly putting some washing on and if I feel particular energetic I might clean the inside of the windows! Tomorrow I aim for a short walk, are you around Wed morning? I might be up for a short forest walk by then.

    4. Clean the inside of windows?! Are you superwoman? I don't ever do that, even when feeling energetic! So you've achieved more than me today. Sorry Emily and I didn't see you at TT last week. I didn't want to pass on any germs, but we look forward to your next session. Also, our head is looking fab, seems you can pull off any hair length! :-D. Love Cat and Emily xx

  5. Gorgeous girl! You've got a fabulous head, I knew you'd carry it off. You look well, probably better than you feel. You won't need a hat except for maintenance of body temperature. Good news about the receptors. I'm a bit low on hormones so there'll be three menopausal women on the lake.......they'll probably let us win the races. Don't forget Irene and I are ready or a sail whenever you fancy a quick trip on the water

Is your choir performance on the 16th of Dec? If so, how do I get tickets? I should be on a good week then so would love to come and watch, also my Parents are down that week to babysit so Adrian will be able to come too.

    2. The choir is on Monday 16th Dec at The Monmouth Ash in Verwood. You don't need tickets, just turn up. It will be a general carol sing so you can flex your vocal chords and we will be doing a few numbers ( I'm going to hide at the back). It will be lovely to see you both ;)
