Well, as promised Tax has so far not caused any sickness and only very mild nausea due to sensitive tummy. You have no idea how pleased I am about that....the thought of ten plus days of severe nausea again was just way too much. I still don't know what is to come in the next few days as far as bone and joint pain and any skin effects goes, but I feel much more able to deal with anything without the nausea.
I have a truck load of drugs to take again, the new one is omeprazole, this is to reduce acid in my stomach to prevent irritation due to the chemo and other drugs. My digestive system has then a real bashing through all this. Tax is meant to cause diarrhoea so I'll look forward to that in the next few days! Will make a change from the constipation on FEC though! It's such a strange roller coaster but only nine weeks to go now.
Surgery is provisionally booked for 14 th March, my last chemo if all stays on schedule is 7th Feb. so end of Feb is party time to celebrate the end of hopefully the worst part and a little respite of feeling normal for a few weeks before surgery. I can't wait :-)
I am very, very tired today despite a reasonable nights sleep. Hope I have a bit more energy tomorrow. But all in all I am feeling ok.
Xxx
So glad there's no more nausea. Sleep well. Lx
ReplyDeleteHow funny - Zach's other reflux drug, alongside Domperidone - is Omeprazole! I shall think of you when I am dosing him up each day! So glad you are feeling better this time round. x
ReplyDeleteThe omeprazole has really helped my poorly tummy which was being irritated by all the various drugs. Just started on Amytriptaline for neauralgia but hopefully Zach is not on that one!! xxx
DeleteHoping you feel as normal as poss and can rest a bit before surgery
ReplyDeleteMuch love
Thanks Irene, normal is a distant memory at the moment but adjusting to the new normal. Ankle twirls are all the rage this week since walking to the shop made me faint!!! Leg lifts are helping preventing my knees seize up :-) Hope you are doing ok, big hugs to you. xxx
DeleteWell done you! You are slowly (and thankfully not so nauseatingly) getting there. Your body is telling you to rest so you must do that (still have to do ankle twirls though), eat well, every day that passes is a day nearer your goal.
ReplyDeleteI think I might have my eyebrows tattooed if I lost them, I certainly have some false eyelashes as a remnant from some party or other and you're welcome to borrow them, however they don't stay on very well and people do give you funny looks...your girls would probably love them!
If you're feeling well enough in Feb shall we aim to have a quick sail before you're incapacitated by surgery?
We'll need to get a little practice in before we take the old boys by storm!
What surgery have you decided to have?
Keep going, you absolutely can do it
xx
Heather, a sail before surgery sounds like a great plan, lets hope this weather settles down a bit. Not sure about tattooed eyebrows??? No decisions about surgery until I'm reviewed and rescanned after last chemo but unlikely to have immediate recon due to possible radiotherapy needed. May have to wait a year, but coming to terms with that. Will mean I'll recover quicker and hopefully be fit for sailing in the summer :-) looking at the positives.
DeleteHi Jen. I have just caught up on your news. I am so pleased that you aren't feeling sick after chemo no. 4. Fingers crossed you have no other side effects. We would love to join you for tiny talk again. Monday mornings haven't been the same without it. xx
ReplyDeleteLove from Ali and Ella! x
